Joyce Dubois Haley

Joyce DuBois Haley passed away very peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at Bethesda Hospital. She grew up in Boynton Beach with an extended family and friends. Mrs. Haley graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Political Science. Upon graduation she began her career with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and later moved to the Florida Department of Corrections. Mrs. Haley retired after a 38 year career as an Administrator with the Florida Department of Corrections. Mrs. Haley met her husband Valjean Haley while employed at the sheriff’s office. They both shared a passion for crime fighting and justice.
Mrs. Haley is predeceased by her husband, Valjean M. Haley, her parents, William and Lois DuBois and her two brothers, William DuBois, Jr. and Robert DuBois. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Kimberly Haley, Valerie Chamberlin (Craig) and Brenda H. Arnold; grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor, Rochelle, Katharine and Lauren; sister-in-law, Joan DuBois; niece, Melissa Braswell (Cary); nephews, Robby DuBois (Kelly), Kurt DuBois; great nieces & nephews, Chelsea, Zach, Trey, Mason, Cash & Cain and extended family members.
Friends will be received from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, 301 N. Seacrest Blvd, Boynton Beach with Dr. Walter Buzwell McNutt officiating. Interment will follow at Boynton Beach Memorial Park.
