Joseph Elmauer
93 yrs old of Boynton Beach, Florida
Met Jesus on Tuesday August 15, 2023
under TrustBridge hospice care.

Born August 29, 1929 in Nemetker, Hungary to parents Katalin and Josef Elmauer. Joe was an only child who was sadly orphaned by the age of six. His parents passed away one year apart. He was then raised by his grandparents, aunts and uncles in Hungary. Due to circumstances during the 2nd world war, his family moved from Hungary to Germany, where he worked on a farm. Then under the sponsorship of his father’s one brother living in the United States, he travelled to Akron, Ohio arriving on December 18, 1949 at the age of 20. He was self taught to learn the American language, and he worked extremely hard to learn a mason’s trade.

He met his future wife Louise in March 1950. They married in July 1951. Their first child, James Michael was born November 2, 1952 and sadly a few hours later he passed away. Their second child, Mary Terese was born January 9, 1954 and sadly a few hours later she passed away. They were then blessed with fraternal twin girls. Joe was a brick and stone Mason known for his outstanding craftsmanship. He built a brick /stone house in Ohio for his little family and a house for his in-laws. The 2 homes were next door to each other on his in-laws farmland. Joe was always an extremely hard worker not only laying brick, stone and block but he also cared for his in-law’s farm.

After moving to Florida in 1967 (all while maintaining full-time work as a brick/block/stone mason), he built yet another beautiful brick/stone home for his family (on the weekends). It was on this very property that Joe also constructed a grotto for a Blessed Virgin Mary statue as well as a fish pond with a stone well with flowing water. After suffering a stroke in 2013, Joe and Louise moved to a smaller home in Boynton Beach. Joe continued to be an avid gardener as he tended to his beautiful garden of vegetables and flowers every single day until he suffered a 2nd stroke on June 16, 2023.

Joe was the most loving family man, a man of great faith and also full of laughter and joy. You could see that in his awesome smile! His 3 grand-children will always remember the times that grandpa Joe took them fishing, allowed them to climb orange trees and eat the fruit right off the branches. His 6 great -grandchildren always loved to hang around their PeePaw. Joe will be dearly missed by his loving family, friends, and neighbors.

Joe is survived by his wife Louise, loving and adoring twin daughters Linda Fleming, Lorie (Robert) Clinger, grandchildren Julie (Russell) Hopkinson, Joseph (Amanda) Fleming, Christina (Gregg) Qualls, great-grandchildren Jaxon, Titus and Anaya Hopkinson, Zara Rae Fleming and Haleigh and Alexis Qualls.

Joe is pre-deceased by his parents, two infant children and Son-in-law Dean Fleming.

A funeral mass will be held at Saint Mark Catholic Church on Thursday, August 24, at 11 AM.
Joe’s final resting place will be at Saint Joseph cemetery in Randolph Ohio, where he will be laid next to his two infant children, and other family members who went before him.
