Joseph Anthony (Joey) DiMartino
August 31, 1936 – November 24, 2019
Age 83 of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of Patchogue, New York passed away November 24, 2019. Joey was born in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Andrew and Concetta DiMartino. He was the loving brother of the late Andrew DiMartino and the late Auggie DiMartino and was predeceased by his amazing son, James Joseph DiMartino. Joey is survived by his beautiful daughter, Donna Marie DiMartino and loving sons, Steven E. DiMartino and James V. DiMartino and step-daughter, Christine Karp-Puma. He is also survived by his former spouse, Marion Joy Paterna-DiMartino and 13 grandchildren.
Joey was a Basic Airman in the United States Air Force with the 604th AC&W Squadron during the Korean War and followed by his career as an Air Traffic Controller at the Long Island McArthur Airport in New York for many years. He was a faithful Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Yankees fan. Joey enjoyed coaching James Joseph’s Little League Nippers Team for many years.
His best friend was Buddy, his Great Pyrenees dog.
The visitation for Joey will be held at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Avenue on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. The Burial for Joey will be held at 11:15 AM on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, FL 33449 (Lane #1). Please meet at 10:00 AM at the funeral home for the processional to the Cemetery.
