Joseph J. De Angelo

Born in Englewood, New Jersey, to Vincent and Marie (Natale) De Angelo.

Joe proudly served in the United States Navy.

After his naval service, he joined the West New York Police Department where he served until 1972. Then he joined the newly forming Brick Township Police Department as a Sargeant. He retired after serving 20 years in many capacities, including Captain, Director and the First Acting Chief.

He received his Master of Public Administration from Farleigh Dickenson University.

Upon retirement, he enjoyed photography and earned his private pilot’s license. He was a new technology junkie.

He moved to Boynton Beach Florida, where he was the Resident Photographer and Chairman of the Safety Committee, and a member of the Men’s Club at Seagate. He belonged to the American Legion.

Joe is survived by his Loving Wife of 48 years, Peggy (Catherine) De Angelo.

Children, Joseph De Angelo Jr., Michelle Keyes, Paulette Keyes (Robert) D’Auria, Sandra DeAngelo (Alfredo) Scala

Grandchildren, Amanda, Jack and Kevin D’Auria, Nino, Joseph, and Giovanni Scala, Joseph III, and Nicholas De Angelo

Sister, Connie Lomano. Brothers and Sisters-in-laws; Steven and Patricia Korotky, Peter and Carolyn Korotky, Patricia and Douglas Davis, Henry and Kimberly Korotky, Joseph and Tracey Korotky, and Mary and David Storey.

Aunt Marlene and Uncle Chuck Kern.

Many Loving Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews and Cousins.

Numerous Friends in New Jersey and Florida.

He lived by his motto:” My Wife, My Family, My Life, My Way.” He will be Missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph’s Memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the Charity of Your Choice.

A Celebration of Life will take place in New Jersey at a future date.
