John Charles Maichin, III

John Charles Maichin III, age 68, passed away peacefully in his beloved home in Boynton Beach, Florida on 12.31.2025.

Born on 10.25.1957 in Glen Cove, New York, Johnny or “The Penguin” as his close friends referred to him as, led a life as a loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather & friend. With the motivation to provide & live life to the fullest, John paid his way through college to become an esteemed sales executive.

Through illness & adversity, he exemplified commitment - to his mental health so he could serve others & live unapologetically his way. He tirelessly persevered to rise above what others, the world, & even his body told him he should be.

He leaves behind a legacy of resilience & love. An enduring reminder to live life “My Way.”

As the loving son of John Charles Maichin II & Arden Steinmetz, he is survived by his two sons, John Charles Maichin IV & Christopher Maichin; his first love, Lisa Maichin; his siblings, Gregory, Lisa & Pamela Maichin, Cathy Sussman; his grandkids Margaux & Charles Maichin, as well as nieces & nephews.

Family, friends, & all those whose lives were touched by John are invited to the Holy Rood Cemetery at 111 Old Country Road in Old Westbury, New York at 11:30 a.m. on Friday January 23rd, 2026 to reminisce, grieve, support, and celebrate life.
