JOHN MARIANO LoPICCOLO
Age 83 of Greenacres, Florida went home to the Lord on January 23, 2022 with the Love of his Life, Barbara Sgambato by his side.
John was born in Seneca Falls, NY on August 21, 1938, the son of Mariano and Jane Martino LoPiccolo. He graduated from Holy Family High School, Auburn, NY in 1956. John was an avid NY Yankees and Syracuse University sports fan. He was a United States Navy and Vietnam Era Veteran and after 40+ years of service retired from the United States Department of Defense in 1998. John was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Boynton Beach.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Edward. He is survived by his companion, Barbara Sgambato, daughter, Andrea Smith (Mark), son Michael (Michelle), grandsons Nicholas (Lyndsey), Joseph, Matthew, and Mitchell, great granddaughter, Mia Grace and his sister Linda Grady.
John is also survived by his “adopted” family; Peter Sgambato, Bill and Deanna Sgambato Aldrich and his “adopted” grandchildren Jaelynn, Jake and Jordis.
In following John’s wishes there will be no calling hours.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 31, 2022 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 South Military Trail, Boynton Beach, Florida 33436.
The Committal Service will be held at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449 (Lane #1).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John’s memory to St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
