JOHN JOSEPH KEHOE
Age 86 of Boynton Beach passed away peacefully Friday, November 21, 2014 at Hospice of Palm Beach County in Bethesda Memorial Hospital East. John was born January 28, 1928 in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was sixth of nine children of the late James & Honora Kehoe, both of whom emigrated from Ireland. Over forty years ago, John began building his home on family land in Waterville, County Kerry, Ireland. While in Ireland, he met and married Mary Dromey, the love of his life and wife of 37 years. John retired from New Jersey Local #9, Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. John was very patriotic and proudly served in U.S. Navy during WWII. For the past 20 years he has lived in Boynton Beach, Florida returning every summer to the home he built in Waterville, County Kerry, Ireland. He is well remembered for his active lifestyle, and enjoyed downhill skiing, swimming, golf and traveling especially on a cruise ship. Many family members remember the fun loving uncle who was happy to play "buckin bronco ride" or rub his razor stubble on a child's face for a good laugh.
John is survived by his wife, Mary; sister, Patricia (Jack) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 7 siblings, Marie, Kathleen, Alice, Eileen, James, Paul and Francis.
Friends will be received Monday, November 24, 2014 from 2-4 PM with a Prayer Service at 2:30 PM at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of U.S. Hwy. #1 & N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Palm Beach County in John's memory.
