John "Jj" Joseph Farrington

JOHN JOSEPH “JJ” FARRINGTON
Age 80 of Boynton Beach passed away on July 7, 2019. JJ served 30 years of Honorable Military Service with full retirement from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of the American Legion for 47 years, 26 of those years with Boynton Beach Post 164. During his service to the Post he was Post Commander from 1991 to 1992, District Commander from 1993 to 1994, Southern Area Commander from 2010 to 2011 and Honor Guard Commander for 9 years. In addition, JJ served as Post 164 Board of Director for 4 years, liaison to Sons of the American Legion for 2 years, past co-chair Boys State for 5 years and a member of Veteran’s Council Boynton Beach for 2 years.
JJ is survived by 10 of his 12 siblings and his companion, Judy Lick.
The Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, July 19, 2019 at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road #7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449, Lane #3.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 PM to 5 PM on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the American Legion Post 164, 571 West Ocean Avenue, Boynton Beach, FL 33426.
