JOHN J. GLICK
Age 87, son of Mr. & Mrs. Nicholas Glick of Brule, Nebraska passed away on Sept. 20, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Louise S. Glick of Boynton Beach. He leaves 2 children, Julie Grimes of Warwick, RI and Andre Glick of MA; 2 grandchildren, Alex and Anya Darmetko of RI. Also, he leaves a brother, Rudolph Glick and wife, Carol of Johnstown, CO; a sister, Evelyn Fudge of Clintonville, WI and 2 sisters-in-law, Margaret Burklund of North Palm Beach and Stella Burklund of Sparks, Nevada. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Mr. Glick graduated from Brule High School in 1948. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he served for 4 years followed by an eight month employment as a fireman for the Union Pacific Railroad. He returned to the Air Force and was a flight engineer at Travis AFB for many years flying during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Glick retired after 21 years from the Air Force and worked as a supervisor of the Electronic Department of Sears Roebuck, Inc., Hyannis, MA. He retired early from Sears due to a heart condition and moved to Boynton Beach, FL in 1987 where he lived until his demise. Friends will be received at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018. Further services and burial will be held in Massachusetts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach, FL 33435 in memory of John J. Glick.
