John Hatton Fallon son of Lauretta and Dr. John A. Fallon passed away on Saturday, August 7th. He was born in Brooklyn on March 23rd, 1938. His beloved wife Mary survives him. His three sons Kevin, John and Daniel and their children Nicholas, Christopher, Kyle, Sean, Erin, Liam, Alexander, Cameron and his daughter in laws Darcy, Lisa and Cassie.
His sister Laurette and her children and grandchildren also survive him.
John was a graduate of Manhattan College and went on to earn a master’s in history at Columbia. After graduating he went on to teach social studies at East Hampton High School where he shaped the minds of numerous students who were so very fortunate to have him as their teacher.
As a father he did it all, from being a scout leader to getting involved in every facet of his boys lives. He was the founder of the FalMar day camp, a commercial fisherman and was active with both the YMCA, East Hampton Community Council and an active member of Devon Yacht Club.
He served in the US Army and was a dedicated volunteer at the Amagansett fire department.
He loved his wife Mary, his boys, his sister, his daughter in laws and grandchildren beyond words.
He was a people person and a people pleaser. He was famous for saying, “Every day is a Saturday “
His door was always open, and his table always had room for more.
When people argue about a glass being half-full or half empty he would say, “Put more ice in mine and keep it full!” If you ever filled his glass, you were enjoying the privilege of his wisdom and company. There was never a better husband, father, grandfather, brother or friend.
John Hatton Fallon lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Amagansett Fire Department in John’s name are suggested.
