John Joseph Cash died on February 3rd, 2026 due to a complications from a stroke. He was born on December 1, 1933 in the Bronx, NY to Irish immigrant parents.


John was raised in the Highbridge section of the Bronx. He attended and graduated from All Hallows Elementary and High School. He was in the high school band and played the clarinet.


After high school, John proudly enlisted in the US Navy and served eight years. His ship was stationed in the Brooklyn Navy Yard and was a training ship for USA NAVY reservist.The ship was named the USS Heyliger. At the end of his service, he left the Navy with the rank of Machinist Mate second class.


After the Navy, John worked at Macy's before getting a job with Con Edison electrical power plant in NYC. He worked at various locations, and then his final job location was at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. He retired after 38 years of service with Con Edison as a stationary engineer.


John was a devout Roman Catholic and his faith and family were always a priority for him. He had a special devotion to Our Blessed Mother. He was a parishioner of St. Mark Catholic Church in Boynton Beach, Florida where he served on the bereavement committee. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.


John loved to travel and dance with his wife Marie. He especially loved Irish set dancing being his favorite. He also loved music, especially Big Band, Irish, and Country. He also played several other instruments including the accordion and chanter.


John was also a big fan of western and classic movies. He also enjoyed watching football and baseball.


Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Johanna, sister Joan, and brothers James Thomas,and Neil.

John is survived by his wife Marie Cash, son John Cash Daughter in law Patrica, daughter Theresa Cash, granddaughters,Erin and Tara Cash, step-daughter, Sioban Dillon, and grandson Ryan Dillon - Khalloq, and numerous nieces and nephews. John will be sorely missed and beloved by many family members and friends. Our family knows Our Father In Heaven has him wrapped in His loving arms.

A prayer service will be held at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, February 23 at 1:00PM followed by a vistation until 3pm with a second visitation being held from 5PM-7PM later that day.

On Tuesday, February 24 at 11:00AM a funeral mass will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church followed immediately by a committal service at South Florida National Cemetery.
