Joanna-Belle Rogers (Skeens) went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 20th, 2023.
She was born to Deborah A. and Michael H. Rogers Sr. on November 22nd, 1982, the baby girl they had always prayed for to complete their family and giving her 3 big brothers, Michael Jr, Aaron Patrick and Jeremy William Rogers. She was the Princess!
Joanna-Belle was named in honor of her Grandmother, Joyce JOANNE Jefferson, her Great Grandmother, Nannie BELLE Burchett and her Great Great Grandmother, BELLE Marie Edwards Merriman. She grew up with nick names of "Jo-Belle" and "JB" and many times went by "Chula".
From kindergarten she began her education attending Heritage Christian School, Green Acres Christian School, Lake Worth Christian School, Highlands Christian Academy, 2nd Baptist Christian School of Hopkinsville, KY and a graduate of Palm Beach High School. She was a graduate of Florida Career College with an Associates Degree as a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist which was her profession she enjoyed and skillfully worked at until her car accident in 2016 which disabled her.
Joanna loved children working many summers as a volunteer for Vacation Bible School. She was trained in ballet, tap and jazz from age 2 thru 12 until her Gymnastic coach advised her it was no longer needed and she dedicated herself to the full time Gymnastic team for Gold Coast which she was a member of from age 9 thru 12, an accomplished Gymnast winning the "All Around" competition for level 4 for ages 11 and 12 year olds, plus 3 gold and 1 silver in the Individuals, competing among several thousand gymnasts from across the United States at the Annual Buckeye Classic held in Ohio as the only gymnast at her level to qualify for the competition from the Gold Coast Gym.
Before becoming a team member of Gold Coast she was a competition swimmer on the Aquaquest Pool of Delray Beach swim team from age 7 always placing gold or silver in every race and by age 8 she specialized in the "Butterfly" before devoting herself to gymnastics full time.
Joanna-Belle never married and the guiding men in her life were always her father and her 3 brothers. They were her only source she trusted and grew up with as an example to her of Godly love and respect, protecting, providing, hard working real men! She dreamed all her life, even as a little girl, to have a husband just like her daddy and brothers, setting the bar too high for most and unfortunately she never met anyone who could measure up. She called upon her brothers for any and all her needs knowing they would have an answer, solution, words of wisdom or just a shoulder to cry on. They were her babysitters, chaperones, best friends and her greatest "fans" at all her competitions along side her mother and father as she was their "Princess" all of her life.
Joanna-Belle is predeceased by her Grandfathers, Clyde A. Jefferson and William Franklin Rogers; Uncles, Jeffrey Scott and Thomas Dean Jefferson and Franklin Charles Rogers.
