Jesus Hernandez Chambrot, born on May 23, 1934 in Cuba, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2024 at the age of 90. A devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Jesus lived a life marked by love, patience and an enduring commitment to family.
In his younger years, Jesus left Cuba in the 1960s and moved to Key West, Florida to join his brothers and build a life with his family. He worked as a commercial fisherman for many years a profession that reflected his deep connection to the sea and his hard-working spirit.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Paula, and his son, Julian, whose memories he cherished deeply. Jesus is survived by his son, Pablo, his daughter Celia and her husband Chris Haritos. All of whom will carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength.
Jesus took immense pride in his grandchildren-Julian Higgs, Chris Haritos Jr., Crystal, Julian and Elizabeth Hernandez- who brought him endless joy and laughter. His great grandchildren, Amora, Damien and Matthew held a special place in his heart.
Jesus will be remembered as a man of quiet strength, compassion, and patience. From his days on the sea to the time spent with his family, his unwavering love for family, will leave behind a legacy of love and family values. The cherished memories he created will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
A private service will be held in Key West for immediate family to celebrate his life. May he rest in eternal peace, reunited with his wife and son, and forever held in the hearts of those who loved him.
