James Timothy "Tim" Hughes passed away on Christmas morning in Boynton Beach, Florida. Tim was born on October 20, 1953 in Washington D.C. to the late James Thomas and Eugenia Francis Hughes. The family lived in Rockville, MD, San Jose, CA, and Cincinnati, OH before settling in Fairview, PA in 1970.

Tim graduated from Cathedral Prep in Erie, PA in 1971 where he lettered in Football and Baseball both years. He attended Penn State University but moved to Boca Raton, Florida in the mid 1970's after contracting a rare skin disease. The skin disease never dampened his spirit as Tim attended Florida Atlantic University where he met many lifetime friends. Tim owned and operated a Cabinet Making and Finish Carpentry Business. He loved sports, golfing, cooking, and helping others. Tim was a jovial and loving "Uncle" to many of his friend’s children. His positive, good-humored character enabled a host of lasting friendships throughout his lifetime.

He is survived by 5 siblings: Elizabeth "Lisa" Ann (San Francisco, CA), Michael Thomas Hughes (Butler, PA), Anthony "Tony" Joseph Hughes (Tucson, AZ), Lindsay Hughes Baynes (Walnut Creek, CA), and Katherine "Kate" Hughes (Delray Beach, FL). He is also survived by 4 nephews Zachary Hughes (Philadelphia, PA), Jeffrey Hughes (Pittsburgh, PA), Liam Baynes (Seattle, Washington) and Anthony James Hughes (Tucson, AZ), many Cousins, and multitude of friends in South Florida and around the United States.

The family is grateful for the kindness/friendship of the Village Royale On the Green Condominium Association and residents, as well as the Derick and Dianne Black family (the Twins) who have been invaluable as Tim's extended family in Florida.

The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 840 George Bush Boulevard, Delray Beach, Florida.
