JAMES MICHAEL HOPKINS
Age 91 of Lake Worth passed away Dec. 17, 2017. Jim was raised in Newfane, New York and left school to join the Navy where he served as an aircraft mechanic during World War II and also in the Korean War. After serving in the Navy he started Hopkins Garage in Newfane. Jim moved to Lake Worth and started Boynton Auto Glass & Body Shop with his friends and associates in 1971. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Lantana, FL. Jim is survived by his son, Patrick (Elizabeth) Hopkins; daughter, Kim M. Hopkins; son, Douglas (Elizabeth) Hopkins; son, James M. (Susan) Hopkins, Jr.; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, Donald Hopkins and sister, Dody Walter. He was preceded in death by his sons, John and Gary Hopkins and sister, Mary Patricia Budnack. The Funeral Service will be held at 12:15 PM on Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach followed by the Committal Service with Military Honors at 1:45 PM at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL (Lane #1).
