Henry Warren Timm (1932-2020), is remembered fondly by his three sons and extended family. He joined his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce, after a peaceful departure in hospice in the company of his sons and daughter-in-law.
Warren, as he preferred to be called, enjoyed every moment in life. He was a teacher, beneficiary, cheerleader, mentor -- and most importantly -- father to his sons. He leaves an enviable record of accomplishments not born of pride, but of joy in participation.
A native of New Jersey, he lived in Nutley, Clifton, and Waretown, before retiring to Florida, where he resided in Boynton Beach and Ocala.
Warren ran a private machine shop in Paterson, New Jersey for many years, while being active in the community. Along with Joyce, he was a student, and then an instructor for almost every course in the United States Power Squadron, and together they also taught themselves computer programming. Warren was a Rotarian, participated in an investor’s club, built amateur electronic equipment from kits, and was an eager participant in local taxpayer groups – much to the chagrin of some local politicians.
Active his entire life, he liked saying he had more to do retired than at work.
In retirement, he participated in community ownership groups, local taxpayer organizations and set up and ran a boat owners’ group and newsletter that still thrives today. Warren was an avid boater and delighted in spending weekends on Barnegat Bay, NJ, in various boats, all seaworthy to his liking. Gin and tonics on the flying bridge during dreamy summer afternoons were prized.
His ever-present jovial greetings were the harbinger of who he was, and a fair signal of the joyous experience in every contact with him. His quick wit and dry humor were sources of many pleasant and ridiculously funny times. He leaves all with a legacy of joy and hope, energized with the desire to seize happiness wherever it may drift by.
Warren leaves his loving spouse Norma Earley, three sons, Clifford (Mary), Stuart (Linda), Andy (Michéle) and one granddaughter (Emily).
