HECTOR LUIS GUZMAN
Age 62 passed away at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, Florida on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Hector was born December 24, 1952 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to Benito Guzman and the late Paula Velez and was one of the 24 children blessed to them. He lived in Caguas, Puerto Rico for 12 years before moving to Florida and venturing into his new journey. Hector met Ruthie Boatley, the love of life in 1969, beginning his own family of 6 with love. On September 26, 2011 he married his love of 46 years. Hector enjoyed auto mechanics and has worked as a fair and friendly mechanic from 1969 until July 21, 2014 when he was no longer able to be at his personal best and do what he loved most. He was a very proud and humble man who loved to spend time with family and friends. Hector would always crack jokes and bring smiles to the faces of everyone he came in contact with, he always had an electric personality and stunned the hearts of so many. He was a man who hardly ever said no to anyone and he never complained no matter what the situation. He was always fair and asked so little of others. But he always has given so much and expected nothing in return. The true heart of an angel. Hector was preceded in death by his mother, Paula Velez, his first born son, Hector Luis Guzman Jr. and 6 siblings. He is survived by his affectionate and dedicated wife of 46 years, Ruthie Boatley-Guzman; loving father, Benito Guzman (97 years old); 5 loving children, Sheila (Demetrius) Johnson, Evelyn Guzman, Miguel Guzman, Ricardo Guzman and Rodney (Annie) Rodriguez; 9 beautiful and treasured grandchildren, Craig (Terrika) Johnson, Chad Johnson, Ashanti Johnson, Anthonaya Bridges, Akeelah Clemons, Le’Marcus Barber, Aliehsa Thompson, Jocelyn Rodriguez and Shatavia Pickens; 17 siblings; and many more family members and friends whom all loved and cared for him as their own father/brother/grandfather and best friend.
Hector had a personality that won over the hearts of so many that not only will he be deeply and dearly missed, he will also be remembered for many years to come. He was a complete man and was always surrounded by nothing short of love. Hector was truly one of a kind.
