Our dear and loving mother was called home December 19th, 2017 in Macon, GA with her children at her bedside. Born in Boynton Beach, January, 30th, 1932, she was the 6th and youngest child of Boynton pioneers Mott Hall Partin and Lois Jones Partin. Gloria graduated from Boynton Beach High School in 1949 and attended Florida State College for Women (FSU). She was the wife of Bernard (Nardy) Turner, Sr., former Boca Raton mayor and co-owner of Turner Nursery & Landscape Co., who died in 2008. They were founding members of Saint Gregory's Episcopal Church in Boca Raton. She was a member of the Jonathan Dickinson chapter of the NSDAR, the Boynton Beach Women's Club and Boynton Beach Book Club. She had a very outgoing personality and never met a stranger. She loved to talk and was once known to carry on a 30-minute conversation after dialing a wrong number. Her nieces and nephews referred to her as the "fun" aunt. She was loving and kind and always took care of others. We will miss her terribly but take comfort in the blessed assurance that she is in the eternal care of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is survived by her son Bernard Turner, Jr., her daughter Susan & husband Dean Hillman, 4 grandchildren: Chris & wife Aly Hillman & their daughter Kennedy (born the day after her great-grandmother died), Andrew Hillman, Sarah Hillman and Mark Hillman, 12 nieces and nephews, her brother Dan Partin, her aunt Wilise Langford and several cousins.
Memorial Service, with Military Honors for her husband Nardy, will be held Friday, January 26th at 2:15 p.m. at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S SR 7 (*LANE 5), Lake Worth, FL. Reception to follow at the home of her niece, Judy & husband Rich Howard, 5198 Canal Dr, Lake Worth, Fl 33463.
