GERARD “Jerry” J. WICHERN
age 75 of Boynton Beach passed away Monday, April 27, 2020.
Jerry was born February 23, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Christian N. Wichern and Ruth McMahon Wichern. He worked at Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn from 1967 until 2000, primarily as a Math Teacher but also the coach for the Boys Basketball team, the Girls Softball team, as a referee and an umpire. Jerry was an obsessive baseball card collector, a diehard fan of the New York Mets and the New York Jets and on October 10, 2012 became a Champion on The Wheel of Fortune game show.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janet; 5 children, Christine (Jerry) Marino, Caryn (Steve) Fusaro, Jennifer (Herman) Oberosler, Jerry Wichern and Jason (Janet) Wichern; 8 grandchildren, Danielle, Jerome, and Ricky Marino, Stephen Fusaro Jr., Eva and Landin Oberosler; and Melinda (deceased) and Natalie Wichern; brother, Steve (Lorraine) Wichern; sister, Mary Schneider and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Private Family Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church in Boynton Beach, Florida.
