George V. Larko, 68, went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2014 under the care of Hospice at JFK Medical Center. He was born to George and Margaret Larko in Barberton, Ohio on July 11, 1945. He lived most of his life in Miami and moved to Lantana in 2000. George suffered from schizophrenia since he was 19, and he met the challenges of this disease with courage and faith. He was a gentle, kind, and generous soul. He was a man of few words, yet had a smile no one could forget. His survivors are his sister and brother-in-law Mary and John Endruschat, Atlantis; sister, Barbara Cunning, Charlotte, NC; nieces and nephews, Anne Cunning, Charlotte, NC, Rusty Cunning, Asheville, NC, Suzanne Endruschat (Joe Dandrade), Delray Beach, Blake Sanders, Charlotte, NC, Iggy and Maggie Dandrade, Delray Beach; aunts Barbara Kriston, Miami, and Catherine Ozbolt (Bill), Barberton, OH, and many other loving relatives in Ohio. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1000 Lantana Rd., Lantana 33462. Burial will follow in Miami at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery.
