Battaglini, George Thomas, 92, of Delray Beach, Florida and formerly of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, passed away on May 29, 2021.
Born December 26, 1928 in Chicago, George later attended DePaul University and earned a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics. He spent most of his career working as a research chemist for Stepan Company in Northfield, Illinois. His research was published by the American Oil Chemists’ Society, of which he was an active member. Through a company initiative, George was able to give chemistry presentations to elementary school students that helped many to develop a passion for science. George was actively involved in activities with his children, including coaching, Indian Guides, and Indian Princesses. He enjoyed musical theater and performed in several musicals and plays. George was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
George will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Carla, his loving children; Marc and Lisa, his grandchild; Alexander Panka, his nephews Richard (Judy), Robert (Sherry) Battalini, and extended family in the United States, Italy, and England. George was predeceased by his parents and his brother Leo Battalini.
