FRANCES CATARCIO
Frances, 90, of Boynton Beach, FL, and formerly of Demarest and Hackensack, NJ, passed away March 5, 2015, peacefully and in the presence of family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, Martin and Mary Casey, and her siblings John Casey and spouse Eleanor, Leo Casey and spouse Nancy, Winifred Casey, and Irene Kearney; and survived by brother-in-law Frank Kearney. Loving mother of Joseph Catarcio, Joan Hubertus, and Lorraine Casamento and her husband Richard. Proud grandmother of Gabriela and Alexander Casamento. Cherished aunt and dear friend of many.
Born and raised in Yonkers, NY, Fran attained her BA from Fordham University and MA from Columbia University. She reared her children in northern NJ, where she passed on her love of reading to them. She did likewise for many children in the same area as she taught, primarily as a Reading Specialist, in several school systems.
Fran’s Catholic faith was important to her. She was a daily Communicant at St. Thomas More. She was a member of the Columbiettes and the Madonna Guild, and previously served as a Eucharistic Minister at Hackensack Hospital. She constantly wore her Rosary ring.
Family and friends will be received at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a wake service at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 S. Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL 33436, on Wednesday, March 11th at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in New Jersey.
