Faye Johnson Mock
Faye Mock, 84, entered into eternal life with her Lord on April 4, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, April 9 at Scobbe-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home in Boynton Beach.
Faye was born on April 30, 1932 in Nashville, Arkansas to Roy and Magdalene Johnson, the eldest of five surviving children. Her first 10 years were spent in Arkansas before the family moved to Sanford Florida, where she graduated high school and later attended Stetson University. In 1951 she married Buddy Mock whom she met while he was stationed at Sanford Naval Air Station.
In 1960 Faye, Buddy and their three boys moved to Fort Lauderdale and later to Plantation. Faye was a part-time model and full-time mom. In later years she managed the family business, Service Integrators.
She was a true southern lady with a strong Christian faith. From their early years she instilled in her sons a love of learning, cultivated a sense of responsibility, and gave them an appreciation for etiquette. She taught them to aim for higher things and to always strive to improve.
Faye was an avid reader, an accomplished seamstress, hat maker, and a devoted, fun-loving mother who adored her grandchildren. She loved gardening and in particular roses and orchids.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64-years, Buddy Mock, and is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Richard & Bobbie Mock (Boynton Beach), Steve & Vera Mock (Clearwater) and Alan & Susan Mock (Frisco, TX) grandchildren; Cheryl Mock, Chris Mock, Kristin Marks, Ryan Mock, Justin Mock, Cory Mock and Melissa Mock and seven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Children's Impact Network ( www.childrensimpactnetwork.org ).
