Evy Qing Tao Homrich (February 15, 2005 – October 11, 2022)

Evy Qing Tao Homrich, age 17, tragically ended her life at home on October 11, 2022.

Evy was born on February 15, 2005, and was adopted from Hefei, China in 2008 by her parents George and Cecilia Homrich. She grew up in Boynton Beach and moved to Lake Worth, Florida when she was 9 years old. Evy and her siblings, Raymond, Boyd, and Mai were homeschooled and attended educational co-op groups taught through Christian-based organizations.

Evy was passionate about her Christian faith. Caring for others and serving with gratitude came naturally to her, including volunteering on mission trips with her family. Evy was devoted to her large family, especially her little nephews, Asher and Elias. She adored playing with them at every opportunity. Despite the commotion of a bustling home, Evy was the first to stop everything to greet a loved one with a warm hug.

Evy was active in sports, including karate, soccer and swimming. After nine years of training, she earned her black belt at the age of 12. She swam all four years at Santaluces High School and was elected captain her senior year. Evy was known to cheer on the last swimmer to finish, regardless of which team they were on. In addition to her studies, swim practice, and everyday chores, Evy still found time to care for others.

Evy loved eating ice cream while watching Hallmark movies and Korean dramas. She enjoyed running errands with her mom, beating her dad at cards, getting coffee with her sisters, and movie nights with her siblings. Family camping trips, beach weekends, and chatting with her friends were her favorite ways to spend time.

Evy Homrich was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Carl Per Wahlfrid and Maj-Britt Rut Evy Andersson, and paternal grandparents Raymond Francis Homrich and Mary Marie Boyd. Evy will forever be held in the hearts of her parents, George Adam Homrich and Cecilia Marie (Wahlfrid) Homrich, her siblings Mai Yi Xuan Homrich, Raymond Carl Homrich, Boyd Andersson Homrich and his wife Sarah Rose Homrich. Evy was adored by her two nephews, Asher Ray Homrich and Elias Andersson Homrich. She was loved deeply by her aunts and uncles, Carl Marcus Wahlfrid (Michelle), Alicia Homrich, Amy Homrich, Diane Homrich (and late husband, Paul), Stephen Homrich (Rose), Peggy (Homrich) Petrey (John), and Thomas Homrich (Suzanne). Evy will be dearly missed by her many cousins Anders, Carrie, Melissa, Jennifer, Jenna (Eric), Kimberly (Matthew), Kevin (Krista), Andy, Daniel, Christine (Joshua), John Thomas, and Jane. She leaves behind many beloved second cousins and cherished friends.

A memorial service will be held in Evy’s honor at 11:00am on October 22, 2022, at Trinity Church International, 7255 S Military Trail, Lake Worth, Florida 33467. A fund has been set up in Evy’s honor with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. https://supporting.afsp.org/campaign/Evy-Homrich-Memorial-Fund
