Celebration of A Life Well Lived
Evelyn debuted upon the stage of life on May 14, 1938. She played many characters in this play, a daughter of Vernon and Ophelia Thompson and a sister to seven siblings. She played a leading role as a graduate of Carver High School Class of 1957. Perhaps her greatest role was that of a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Being a grandmother brought her great joy.
Evelyn married Floyd Rice in 1962 and worked as an accountant for Barnett Bank for many years. Floyd and Evelyn owned a successful shoe repair shop in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida. Her performance was always perfect. Her happiness and satisfaction to her audience were well receive. Those that love Evelyn will miss her. Remember her and continue to celebrate the good times.
V 6. For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand.
V7. I have fought a good fight; I have finished my course; I have kept the faith:
V8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness. which the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:6-8 KJV
Life’s curtain call came on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, the closing of her last performance. Her role was not easy, yet she gave it her all. God, the writer, producer, and director of “Life” has called Evelyn into His presence to reward her with eternal life and rest for a performance well done.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving daughter Kim (John), granddaughters: Monica and Kiah; great-granddaughters: Daisia, Alexandra, Emerald, and Diamond; devoted sister Barbara. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
