81 of Delray Beach, Florida passed away quietly on March 8, 2016, surrounded by her family’s love, in Hospice of the Palm Beaches at Bethesda Hospital after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Eva was predeceased by her husband Paul in October of 2014. Eva was born in Guntersville, Alabama on January 13, 1935 to Gurly and Minnie Byrams. She was one of 7 children, all of whom predeceased her.
She will always be remembered for her dedication to her family and the way she gave of herself to others. She was a devoted caregiver to many loyal patients in Delray and Boynton Beach, but most of all, she was very proud of her family. Eva so loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Eva was also very close to her siblings and her nieces and nephews. She was lovingly called Dixie Memaw by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eva is survived by two sons Danny Tidwell (Lauryl) and Dwight Tidwell (Liska). She is also survived by three grandchildren; Molly Simon (Phillip), Lindsay Varn (Ryan), Dylan Tidwell, and predeceased by granddaughter Maggie Tidwell. Surviving great-grandchildren are: Caroline Simon, Faith Simon, Emery Simon, Tristan Varn, and Mae Simon.
Friends will be received from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Friday, March 11, 2016 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of U.S. Hwy. #1 & N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton Beach with the Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Shirley Byrums officiating. Burial will follow in the Boynton Beach Memorial Park.
