EUGENE F. KNOBBE
passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Bethesda Hospice of Palm Beach County. Gene was born August 26, 1928 in Park Ridge, Illinois. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a retired Police Officer/Detective with Melrose Park, Illinois Police Department and had been a resident of Boynton Beach, Florida for forty years.
Gene was preceded in death by his sons, Bobby Knobbe and Steve Knobbe. Surviving family includes his loving wife of 47 years, Nita Lang Knobbe; three children, Dr. William “Bill” Mullendore and wife Debbie of Columbus, MS, Lyn Craddock and husband James of Boca Raton, FL, Jon Knobbe and wife Karen of Alpharetta, GA; eight grandchildren, Eric Mullendore, Joshua, Skylyr and Konnor Craddock, Ryan and Loren Knobbe, Travis Knobbe and wife Heather, Karissa Knobbe and husband Nicholas Kyle; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Andre and Brynn Knobbe; niece, Ruth Ann Gomez and husband David; and cousin Carol Nelson and husband Charles.
The family will be celebrating Gene’s life with a private Memorial and his ashes will be laid to rest in the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
