ERIC E. MILLNER

Age 96 of Boynton Beach passed away on December 15, 2015. Eric was born in New York City and moved to Palm Beach County in 1993 from Mount Laurel, New Jersey, where he resided for 20 years. He lived at the Gardens of Willow Bend in Lake Worth for 23 years. He is a veteran of World War II proudly serving in the US Navy.
Eric loved his NY Yankees, NY Giants, the Roadrunner (beep, beep), watching MASH, and coffee – he loved his coffee. He was easy to spot in a crowd because he always wore the same hat - he actually had 6 of them and changed them periodically, but it was still the same hat, much to his daughters’ dismay. Eric was an engineer, and his family often joked that his profession worked its way into various aspects of his life; he couldn’t change a light bulb without first drawing up big plans – on graph paper. He was a practical man, especially when it came to hats – obviously, and managed to drive the same car for 17 years, again, much to his daughters’ dismay. He proved that it is actually possible for a human being to bite themselves in the derriere when he sat on his dentures, much to his daughters’ amusement. He was always handy with a tool box and could build anything (how many light houses do we have?). He loved children of all ages – especially his children, much to his daughters’ delight.
Eric is survived by his daughters, Holly Millner of Boynton Beach and Aberdeen, NJ, and Robin Giampetro (Joseph) of Winthrop, ME; 2 granddaughters, Amanda Christine of Westbrook, ME and Sarah Elizabeth of Augusta, ME; 2 nephews, William H. Golod (Marsha) of Charleston, SC and Jerome Golod (Ruth) of Calabasas, California; his in-laws, Marty and Cathy Lacey of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Donna, Trisha (Tim), and Michael (Susan); and dear friends Bill and Joanne Gannon. He is predeceased, by his wife Marion, sisters Helen and Sarah, and brothers Moe and Harry.
The Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL, Lane #5.
