ELSIE LOUISE SCHNABEL
age 84 went home to the Lord and her beloved husband on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at her granddaughter’s residence in West Palm Beach. She was born in Boynton Beach in 1931 to the late Clifford & Opal Ridgeway Steiner. Elsie married her high school sweetheart Edward Schnabel III in 1953 at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Delray Beach. She attended Delray Beach High School and Bob Jones University and was a volunteer for the PBC Voting Polls for over 25 years and personally worked with Supt. Jackie Winchester. Elsie spent most of her years dedicating her time to her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel (Gary) Smith; son, Carl (Julie) Schnabel; granddaughter, Jennifer (Pat) Carnahan; grandson, Matthew Schnabel; 4 great grandchildren, Meghan, Chloe, Zoey and Patrick; brother, Joseph Steiner; sisters-in-law, Jewell and Virginia Steiner and was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Edward Schnabel III; brothers, Alan and Stanley Steiner; and sister-in-law, Juanita Steiner.
Family and friends will be received from 11:00 AM until Service time at 12:00 Noon on Friday, May 27, 2016 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach. Burial to follow at Delray Beach Memorial Gardens.
