Ellen Loree Cawthray

ELLEN LoREE CAWTHRAY,
age 69 of Boynton Beach, Florida, formerly of New Castle, DE
passed away Monday, January 20, 2020. Ellen was born November 22, 1950 to the late Gerald LeFree Kistler and Dorothy Mae Cartwright
Kistler (Wyszynski) in Wolf Lake, Indiana but was raised in
Groveville, New Jersey. She retired after many years as the
Office Manager for Billing, Cochran, Lyles & Ramsey Law Offices
in West Palm Beach, Florida. Besides her parents, Ellen was
preceded in death by her son, Leonard Michael Thomas and her
husband, John E. Cawthray Sr., who was the coach of the
Florida Atlantic University Rugby Team in Boca Raton, Florida at
the time of his passing. Due to Ellen's involvement also with the
Rugby team, she was inducted in 2017 as an Honorary Member of the Florida Atlantic University Rugby Hall of Fame.
Ellen is survived by her son Michael John Thomas (Autumn)
(stepchildren, Dawn Thompson (Adam) and John Jr. (Gena);
beloved grandchildren, Krystyna "Krvssv" Redmond, Leonardo
& Angelo Thomas. Ashley & Daley Thompson, Jacob, Emma &
Delaney Cawthray; great granddaughter, Violet Thomas; 2
Sisters, April Lynn Rogers (George) & Anita Kay Kistler-Howard;
brother, Arthur Ray Kistler; 3 aunts, 1 uncle, Linda Lee Rogers
(David) & Doris Elaine Barna, Darleen Kistler-Alvord, & Arthur
W. Kistler (Glenndola) and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be held at Scobee-Combs-Bowden
Funeral Home, corner of U.S. Hwy. #1 & N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton
Beach on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM with a Service at 6:00PM.
A Committal Service will be held Monday, February 17, 2020 at 2:00PM at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City
Road, Bear, Delaware where Ellen will be laid to rest with her
beloved husband, John.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Diabetes
Foundation or the American Cancer Society in Ellen's memory.
