Elizabeth "Happy" Hurst

Elizabeth Morgan Hurst, affectionately known as Happy, passed away Friday Dec. 25th 2015 at the age of 78. Happy is survived by her son Troy Griffin and his wife, Vicky, her granddaughter and best friend Megan Capuano, and her new grandson Sammy, as well as her kitty cats Freddie, Joshua, Sybil and Samantha Jane. She joins her Mom and Dad Edna & Raymond Hurst, her daughter Sherri Capuano, her kitties Jasper & Samantha and her favorite doggie Muggsy. Happy was loved by many great friends and truly lived up to her name. She grew up in Roanoke Rapids, NC and went to Guildford College before transferring and graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1959. She was a Tar Heel born & bred and an avid Miami Dolphins fan, never missing a home game in 37 years. She was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and was very active in her church. She had a long career at IBM and retired from Boys Town after 13 yrs. Happy was the true embodiment of unconditional love and she will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. A service to honor her life will be held 3pm Saturday, Jan. 2nd at First United Methodist Church of Boynton Beach 101 N. Seacrest Blvd. 33435. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church for the preschool where she volunteered and was very passionate about. 561-732-3435
