Eleanor ("Patty") Loughran Freeland, 98, of Quail Ridge in Boynton Beach, FL (formerly of Washington Valley and Morristown, NJ) died October 12, 2013 after a long illness.
She was born in 1915 in Forest Hills, Long Island, the daughter of Eleanor Martin Loughran and Alexius Michael Loughran and the oldest of 4 children, including 2 brothers Alexius Michael, Jr. ("Buddy") and Daniel, and sister Genevieve. She married Henry Theodore ("Ted") Freeland in 1943 and they had two children H. Theodore Jr. (a physician) and Patricia (an attorney). Her husband served with distinction in WW II, and went on to become a highly successful investment banker.
Patty loved golf, travel, dancing, bowling, and had many adventures until her health began to fail in her late 80s.
She was predeceased by her husband Ted and her two brothers. Survivors include her son Ted (and wife Kate Clair Freeland) and daughter Pat (and husband Robert S.V. Platten), sister Genevieve Loughran, and two grandchildren, Rebecca Freeland and Julia Freeland.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday October 17 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach. Arrangements entrusted to Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, Boynton Beach.
