Eleanor Clukey passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020, after an unexpected brief illness. She was born In Waterbury, Connecticut, on December 21, 1926, to Anthony and Helen (Merenda) DiBlasi. Eleanor was a teacher in the Waterbury Public School system until retiring to Pembroke Pines, Florida. Eleanor loved playing golf, tennis, and bridge with all her friends in the Hollybrook community there. She loved traveling and was able to see a good majority of the world. Eleanor was a loving wife and mother and was very proud of her family. She was a person who loved social gatherings and was always willing to go to a party or social event. She always was supportive and willing to help others in need.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Omar Clukey, a veteran of World War II. She is survived by her children Thomas Clukey (Christine Holden) of Cheshire, Connecticut, Ronald Clukey of Milford, Connecticut, and David Clukey (Joseph Moreau) of Lake Worth, Florida; grandchildren Monica Viall (Cal), Leigh Lamitola (Mike), Alison Clukey, Paul Clukey, Janna Clukey, Katharine Clukey, and Caroline Clukey; and great grandchildren Isabelle and Ryland Viall, Judsen and Logan Lamitola, and Aura Clukey. She is also survived by her remaining siblings, Gertrude Quinn and Joyce Wooding. She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held December 11, 2020 at Sacred Heart at 11 AM followed by a Committal Service at the South Florida National Cemetery at 1 PM.
