Edgardo Martinez Llanes Sr.
April 24, 1953 — August 24, 2015
Edgardo Martinez Llanes, Sr., known as Ed or Captain to his family and closest friends, passed away peacefully Monday, August 24, 2015 at 12:02 PM after his long battle with colon cancer at the age of 62 at JFK Medical Center. He leaves his wife of 40 years Linda, his daughters Gail, Sheryl and Rose, his only son, Ed Junior, five granddaughters and his father, Benjamin Llanes.
Ed earned his nautical science degree from Philippines Maritime Institute. He retired as a captain. He was born and raised in Batangas City, Philippines, the son of Benjamin and Victoria Llanes, with four brothers and one sister.
He enjoyed playing tennis with his friends in his spare time, a handyman to all of us, loved to cook, loved his five granddaughters, was a good provider and he always made sure he gave his best to his family.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday August 26, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home.
