Earl A. Duesel, 104, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 24, 2014 in Boca Raton, FL. Born February 5, 1910 at the home of his grandmother in Webster, MA son of Frank R Duesel and Malvina E. (Lamoreaux) Duesel. Husband of the late M. Irene (L’Esperance) Duesel who passed away August 7, 1997. Earl leaves his five children and their spouses: G. Irene Garcia and her husband Ronald of Shrewsbury and Falmouth, MA, Nancy N. Vallee and her husband Robert of Westboro, MA, Earl R. Duesel and his wife Elaine of Marlboro, MA, Mark J. Duesel of Boca Raton, FL, Patricia Duesel Sharon of Charlottesville, VA and her former husband James A. Sharon of Boca Raton, FL.
Earl graduated from Worcester South High School class of 1927 and attended Becker Business College and Clark University. He was continuously employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. and its offspring Suburban Propane Gas Corp. from September 14, 1936 until his compulsory retirement on February 5, 1975 working as salesman, service representative, assistant to the manager, district manager and Northeast Regional Manager. He was the co-founder of Shrubs and Trees Inc. in Southboro, MA. Earl and Irene were married at St. Paul’s Church in Worcester, MA on February 3, 1940. Besides his children Earl leaves 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Until his marriage he lived on Stafford Street in Worcester, MA and with his father and brother built a summer home in Webster, MA.
He raised his family in Marlboro, MA and retired to Hyannisport, MA and Boca Raton, FL. Earl enjoyed a full life surrounded by the love of his family and many friends. A man admired by all who came in contact with him, his class, integrity, and fairness to all is a fitting legacy. He will be remembered for the many stories he shared and the support he gave to all that went to him for his advice. A man ahead of his time Earl accepted the many changes that he saw in his lifetime, handled each step with grace and remained the patriarch of his family right up until his passing. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton, FL.
