Douglas Claud Broadfield, 58, of Lake Worth, FL passed away peacefully at his home on October 31, 2024 after a 5-year battle with cancer. He was a devoted father, loving husband, cherished son, beloved brother and uncle, and a dear friend to many. To know Doug was to love him.
Born in Portsmouth VA, Doug lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness. He was known for his warmth, compassion, and generous spirit. Doug was an accomplished scholar and made a lasting contribution to the fields of comparative anatomy and paleoneurology.
Doug worked at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine where he was a senior faculty member of anatomy and director of the willed body program. He was respected for his dedication and integrity. Teaching and mentoring were his passions, and he left a lasting impression on all those who had the pleasure of working with and studying under him.
Doug left this world far too early, but his love and legacy will continue to live on through his beloved wife, Julie, and his adoring children, Sydney and Rowan, as well as in the hearts of all who knew him.
