Age 63 of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
She was born on April 17, 1958 in Washington, DC.

Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Marymount College, Virginia
Master of Education in Special Education from George Mason University, Virginia
Dorrie started her teaching career in 1981 at St Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Triangle, Virginia.
Dorrie taught several elementary grade levels at St Francis for nearly ten years. She then took a hiatus from her career to raise our son Kevin. Dorrie resumed her career ten years later in the Prince William County Public Schools.
Dorrie worked as a Teacher Assistant in Alternative Education at Marshall Elementary while pursuing a Master’s degree. After graduating she became a Teacher of Students with Autism at Gravely Elementary School in Prince William County Public Schools.
Dorrie always put her heart and soul into her work with the students, many of whom she taught in the early 80’s still kept in touch with her on Facebook.
Dorrie retired seven years later in 2018 and moved from Virginia with her husband to Boynton Beach Florida to be with his parents.
Dorrie was very active in several parish ministries and activities at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She is a member of the Columbiettes at St. Marks Catholic Church.
Dorrie is survived by her husband of 40 years Robert Horwath of Boynton Beach, Florida and her son Kevin Horwath of Danville, Virginia. She is predeceased by her parents, Sidney F Carwile and Dorothy Wheeler Carwile of Arlington, Virginia. Dorrie is survived by her husband’s parents Stephen and Dolores Horwath of Boynton Beach, Florida, her five siblings: Stephen (Chris) Carwile of Centreville, Virginia, Nancy (Larry) Harrison of Falls Church, Virginia, JoAnn (Ed) Zygmant of Southport, Connecticut, Kit (Ed) Bucks of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Sr. Mary Sue, IHM of St James Convent, Falls Church, Virginia. Dorrie is also survived by her Sisters-in-Law, Linda (Pam) Horwath of Eatontown New Jersey and Theresa (Harvey) Doischen of Boynton Beach, Florida.

Visitation/prayer service Wednesday Dec 8, 4-6 p.m. at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, 599 N.E. 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach, Florida.
The Funeral Mass is Thursday Dec 9 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach, Florida and will be livestreamed at the following link.
