DR. DAVID F. CAFARELLI of Greenacres, FL, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at JFK Hospital in Atlantis, FL. He was the loving husband of Sandy (Buijs) Cafarelli. Born in Utica, NY, son of the late Dominick & Anna (Abounader) Cafarelli. David graduated Notre Dame High School, Utica, NY, Class of 1970. Began collegiate studies at the University Per Stranieri, Perugia, Italy graduating from the State University of NY Geneseo College in 1974. While studying at Geneseo College, David worked as a Political Intern for Congressman Nick Begich, D-Alaska in Washington, D.C. David continued his pursuit of his law degree at the University of Kent, Canterbury, England 1974-75 and completed his studies at Life University School of Chiropractic Medicine in Marietta, Georgia in 1982. David also completed a National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 1992 and was a certified practitioner in the State of Florida.
David spent the past 30 years of his life running busy practices in New Orleans, Louisiana and in West Palm Beach, FL and as CEO of Zetpil Nutritionals, LLC. David began his medical career in Louisiana and was the recommended chiropractic physician for the New Orleans Saints. David relocated to Florida in 1991 and began his private practice. David became an Expert Medical Certified Advisor for Florida’s Workman’s Compensation in 1996 and actively assisted until 1998.
David spent his life actively pursuing avenues as a researcher and scientist to assist people lead better quality lives. Thousands of patients respected and benefited from David’s extensive experience and his unique ability to comprehensively understand medical and complimentary treatment and integrate both treatment approaches into a single treatment plan. In life, David’s passion was to help people create better health and make them well. David will continue assisting people posthumously through his belief in organ donation. In addition to his wife, David is survived by his children Cameron & Connor Cafarelli. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Duignan and her husband Michael of Utica, NY, their children Danyse, Christine and Michael and brother Steven Cafarelli and wife Beth of Jensen Beach, FL and their children Christopher, Andrea and Patrick, father in law and mother in law, Wim and Mieke Buijs, The Netherlands and best friend Edward Tinari. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association. A celebration of David’s life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, Boynton Beach, FL from 3 – 5pm with a service following at 5p.m.
