Danny Ray Tidwell, 59 years old, passed away in the loving arms of his family, on his 39th wedding anniversary, April 9, 2016. He was a remarkable man who was respected and admired for his unfailing love and devotion to his family and his ability to lead by example. It was the simple things in life that he never took for granted. Danny was born to Paul and Eva Lou Tidwell, on November 6, 1956, in Lake Worth Florida. He was raised in Delray Beach where he made many of the friends and relationships that he maintained throughout his entire life. He was a notable athlete, excelling in all sports, but most recognized for his extraordinary talents in football and baseball. Danny was drafted by the Texas Rangers during his Senior Year at Atlantic High School, completing his first professional season as a 17-year old. He later joined the family business, Tidwell Plumbing, Inc. and married his high school sweetheart, Lauryl. Together they raised their family as he was a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather. His years were meaningful. He leaves behind his wife Lauryl Rogers Tidwell, children Molly Simon (Phillip), Lindsay Varn (Ryan), Dylan Tidwell, grandchildren Caroline Simon, Faith Simon, Emery Simon, Tristan Varn, Mae Simon, and his loving cousins and friends. Danny was predeceased by his parents Paul and Eva Lou Tidwell and by his daughter Maggie Rae Tidwell. A private memorial celebrating Danny’s life will be held as we hold him in our hearts forever. Donations may be made in his honor to Big Bend Hospice.
