Cynthia Ann Strouse

Cynthia Ann Strouse, 77, passed away February 15, 2026, in Palm Beach County. Born June 5, 1948, in Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, Cynthia was a proud graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1966. She was crowned Miss WPPA in 1967 and was involved in the Winter Carnival Activities during the late 1960’s. She went on to attend Penn State University, where she earned a degree in Education. During her college summers, she worked at Schuylkill Haven Recreation Department at local playgrounds. Though rooted in learning, Cynthia’s professional life reflected her entrepreneurial spirit and her deep compassion for others. She was the Co-operator of Mountain City Diner & Catering in Frackville, Pennsylvania for many years where she created not only wonderful meals but also lasting connections within her community. Later, she worked as a caregiver, dedicating herself to tending to others with patience and kindness. Cynthia spent most of her life in Pennsylvania before moving to South Florida in her later years, where she was lovingly cared for by her sister, Susannah. She was endlessly curious about life and always eager to learn, Cynthia loved watching movies, listening to music, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her warmth, intelligence, and genuine interest in others made her someone people felt comfortable with and drawn to. Cynthia’s life was marked by resilience, compassion, and deep love for those around her. She will be remembered for her generous heart, her strength, and the joy she found in simple moments shared with family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Cynthia is survived by her sister, Susannah of Palm Beach County; brother, James (spouse) Pamela Strouse of Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania; 3 nieces, several great nieces & nephews, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy & Francis “Rab” Strouse; and her nephew, Susannah’s son, Erik
