Cynthia “Cyndi” Paulette Carrodus Demitruk, a vibrant and cherished member of the Boynton Beach, Florida, community, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 7, 2025, at the age of 66. A resident of Boynton Beach since 1991, Cyndi built lasting roots and deep connections throughout the community she called home.

Born on January 15, 1959, in Sumter, South Carolina, Cyndi was the beloved daughter of the late Monica Carrodus and J. Paul Carrodus. Her life was marked by warmth, compassion, and a unique ability to connect with everyone she met.

Cyndi was a devoted mother to Joseph “Josh” Clyde Demitruk and Kaitlyn Riley Demitruk-Betts. Her greatest joy came from her role as a grandmother to Caleb Betts and Milo Demitruk, who brought boundless happiness into her life. She is also survived by her sister, Caren Acheson; her brother, J. Paul Carrodus Jr., and his wife, Lisa Carrodus; her stepsisters, Kate Grittner and Nancy Patteson; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

A proud graduate of Boca Raton Academy and the University of Central Florida, Cyndi believed in lifelong learning and pursued a rich and varied professional journey. She held impactful roles in banking, the Palm Beach County Film Commission, the Teaching Learning Network, and Ion Media (Pax TV).

For more than a decade, Cyndi dedicated her talents and heart to Palm Beach State College, where she served as Compliance Director. Her work there was more than just a job—it was a calling. She found true purpose and fulfillment in supporting students, colleagues, and the mission of the college. The Palm Beach State community became like a second family to her, and she often spoke of how grateful she was to be part of such a caring and collaborative environment. Her passion, professionalism, and sense of humor left a lasting impact on all who worked alongside her.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cyndi was a passionate advocate and engaged citizen. She was an active member of Little People of America (LPA), contributing at both the local and national levels. Her compassion for animals led her to volunteer at a local animal shelter, and her sense of civic responsibility was evident through her involvement in various political organizations.

Cyndi had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen and valued. She “never met a stranger,” and her ability to connect with people from all walks of life earned her friends across the globe. Her kindness, authenticity, and infectious spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

The Memorial Service to honor Cyndi's life will be held at Unity of Delray Beach, 101 N.W. 22nd Street, Delray Beach, FL 33444 at 10:00 AM on May 17, 2025.
A reception will be held immediately after the service at Crossroads Club, 1700 Lake Ida Road, Delray Beach, FL 33445
