Cornelius (“Neil”) P. Mahon, age 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 5, 2021, at his home in Ocean Ridge, FL, surrounded by his loving family.

Neil is predeceased by his wife (Patrice) and survived by his brother (Arthur), four children (Mary Pat, Steve, Cathie and Neil Jr.) and nine grand-children.

Neil was born on March 2, 1935, to Arthur and Mary Mahon in Brooklyn, NY, and grew up along with his two sisters (Mary Therese and Delia Rose) and brother (Arthur) in Glendale Queens, NY. After graduating Iona College, Neil served as a lieutenant in the US Marine Corp and subsequently moved back to New York City where he met his beautiful wife, Patrice. Throughout the early years of their marriage in New York, Neil built his career in real estate most notably at Huberth & Huberth, Inc. where he was a partner, and brokered the sale of a number of New York City’s iconic buildings. As his career excelled, he moved the family to the town of Chappaqua in Northern Westchester, NY. Neil loved to travel, play tennis and take long walks. As their children grew, Neil supported his wife as she took leadership roles in their community and ardently supported his children to expand their horizons, explore the world through international living and education and grow their careers and families in his same spirit.

With their children grown, Neil and Patrice migrated to Quechee, VT in 1992 where they spent many happy summers. Later in retirement, Neil and Patrice became full-time residents of Ocean Ridge, FL where Neil loved to walk along the ocean. Neil served as a part-time legal arbitrator, part-time golf enthusiast, part time travel and history buff, and full-time loving husband. With his beautiful wife always by his side, Neil enjoyed a full and blessed life.

Always a quick wit and ready with a funny turn of phrase or joke at the ready, Neil was known for his humor and sincere conversation and company. He is now received in heaven by his wife and family and friends that have gone before him. He will be sadly missed by all that were fortunate to know him.

Neil’s family would like to thank Audrey Simpson and Taniah Dacosta for their dedicated service and care over the last two years.
