Claudio Ballard was born in Palma Italy on September 22, 1958 to Alma and Marvin Ballard. Claudio died Sunday April 15, 2018 in Pompano Beach Florida where he had resided for about one and a half (1 1/2) years, previously residing in Fort Lauderdale for six (6) years, having moved from Huntington, Long Island. Claudio was an only child, and never married. His family was his friends and business colleagues. Marvin his father met Alma his mother, when he was on assignment in Italy the United States Navy as an engineer, holding the rank of Captain, where they married. Claudio emigrated with his mother from Italy to the United States when he was seven (7) years old, joining his father Marvin a long time resident of Long Island New York. Claudio who spoke no english quickly became fluent in english, with not a trace of any italian accent, a tribute to his above average intelligence. At an early age Claudio helped his mother with her menagerie of costumed parrots - from pirates to people in all walks of life, and many other animals, and in her own right Alma became famous as the "bird" lady appearing many time on the Letterman Show, and a cameo appearance in Woody Allen's "Broadway Danny Rose," with Claudio as her assistant . Claudio graduated from the State University of New York Stony Brook, with a computer science degree. He founded his first company in computer programming which quickly grew to have half of the Fortune 100 companies as customers, and it became a joint venturer with the Oracle Company, when Oracle's President Larry Ellison acquired the company and its technology. In 1994 Claudio began his work on a set of patents which eventually formed the foundation of the the DataTreasury Corporation. These patents and the technology related to the patents became the backbone of the check Imaging, digital transmission and check clearance technology for the United States banking industry. During the early years of the 2000's through 2015, more than fifty (50) of the of the top banking institutions became licensees of DataTreasury and Claudio's patents, enabling them to use Claudio's digital check imaging and clearance technology. These fifty (50) plus banks, accounting for over seventy five (75) percent of all check volume in the United States. DataTreasury received over $800 million dollars in royalties from the banking industry for Claudio's patents. In 2010 Claudio was named the inventor of the year by the Washingtoc DC based United States Business and Industry Council. Since 2008 Claudio continued to receive patents for his inventions to removed the jungle of wires in automobiles, reducing the jungle to one continuous wire, and used these patents to build a car he called the Iconic Roadster which he built from frame up - engine, drive train and his single wirel technology. At his death this technology, and its progeny is being explored for use in the automobile industry. Claudio was a prolific inventor, having been granted more than a dozen patents in his life time.
