Charles A. Barrett III “Biff”, 72, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, April 17, 2015.

Biff was born on April 16, 1943 in Trenton, NJ to Charles A. Barrett II and Helen Murray Barrett. He served in the US Navy, owned an auto paint and body shop, and shaped surfboards. Biff was a professionally licensed boat Captain and spent many years living aboard his beautiful sailboat, The Surveyor. After moving to Delray Beach, Florida in the 1970’s he was employed as the Dockmaster at the Delray Beach Yacht Club. He enjoyed reading, spending time with his family, surfing, and bodysurfing.

He is survived by his children, Sean J. Barrett of Delray Beach, Florida, Charles A. Barrett IV of Scottsdale, Arizona and his wife Leann, and Molly G. Barrett of Delray Beach, Florida; his grandchildren, Chet, Cassie, and Ella Barrett; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 1:00pm. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from where Biff’s beloved dog, Rusty was adopted.
