Catherine E. Flaherty
June 27, 1928 — January 8, 2019
Catherine Flaherty, 90, of Boynton Beach, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa passed peacefully to her eternal home on January 8, 2019. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Anne Flaherty, brothers Pete Flaherty (former Mayor of Pgh), and James (former Commonwealth Court Judge), sisters, Sister Rita Flaherty RSM, Margaret Moretti (Charles), and niece Peggy Moretti .
Surviving are her beloved sisters, Helen Smith (James, dec) of Mt Lebanon and Ocean Ridge and Patrice Mahon (Cornelius) of Ocean Ridge, FL.
Twenty four nieces and nephews and over 50 grand nieces have wonderful memories of a loving generous Aunt.
Catherine, a graduate of Carlow College spent her career as an employment Counselor for the state of Pa. A strong Catholic Faith and a generous spirit to those in need were a guiding part of her life.
She was an active member of St Mark Parish, enjoyed many years of golf and day trips with her Sterling Village neighbors.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St Mark Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach on Tuesday January 15 at 1:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Bernard Church, Mt Lebanon Pa, on April 6 at 10am and burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery following.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Mark Church or St Bernard Church.
