Carolyn C. Murray

"Carol" Murray, 83, passed away peacefully on 2/6/25 at her Boynton Beach home of 59 years. Born May 24, 1941 in Lakeland, she graduated Gainesville High in '59 and Univ of Florida in '63 with a degree in Education. She met her husband, Tom, in freshman math class & married him on the same day they graduated. After teaching in Oklahoma for 1 year while Tom was in the Army, they moved to Boynton Beach where she did book-keeping for his family business - Allan Murray Nursery. When her husband became an Assoc. Pastor (Lake Worth Bible Church & Maranatha Bible Church), she fully supported his ministry including welcoming 1000's of youths & adults into their home over the years for weekly "ranch" meetings, youth groups & Bible studies.
She was a devoted & loving wife, mother & grandmother who will be missed greatly. She was caring, super smart & competitive, as anyone who ever played cards or sports with her could attest- challenging visitors to a game of ping pong or pool well into her late 70's. As she lived with Alzheimer’s for over 16 years, she still did daily word puzzles & sudoku plus watched the Game Show Network non-stop.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tom & both sets of their parents, after selflessly caring for each of them, & nephew (Greg). She is survived by her son Todd (George), daughter Karen (Dr. Joe) Gretzula & grandkids Alexia (Max) & Tyler, dear sister Barbara (Allen) Combs & nephew Eric (Kelly) Rose as well as other family & friends.
We rejoice that she is no longer trapped by a body & mind that failed her, & we find comfort in knowing we will be reunited with her one day in heaven. We are especially thankful to her team of caregivers these past few years (Amber, Marie L, Marie C, Gloria, Luissa, Carlene & others) & Trust Bridge Hospice (Ania). Viewing (1:30pm) & Service (2pm) will be held on Sat Feb 16th at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, 599 N.E. 15th Ave, Boynton Beach.
