John Patrick Donohue & Carolyn E. Donohue
Jack passed away June 27, 2023 and his beloved wife Carolyn of 54 years passed away June 29, 2023.
Carolyn was born in Erie, PA in 1946 to John Siegel and Helen Ross Siegel. Carolyn graduated from Villa Maria College with a BS in Home Economics in 1968. In 1969 she married John (Jack) Donohue. Carolyn and Jack enjoyed raising their children Kate and Mike in Pompano Beach, FL, then moved in 1994 to Boynton Beach, FL.
Carolyn loved her Church and her church family at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Boynton Beach. Previous to joining St. Thomas More she was engaged in several ministries including Eucharistic Minister to Bethesda Hospital, the Bereavement Ministry and the CCW. She worked with her husband collecting and delivering donations of clothing and bedding to St. Anne's Place, a men's homeless shelter in West Palm Beach.
Her work career spanned over 50 years from Associate Foods Writer for the Cleveland Plain Dealer to Foodservice sales in National Accounts for Appetizers and, Inc. Durkee Foods, Unilever, Lipton and EuroBake.
Carolyn had a passion for gardening and enjoyed feeding and nurturing the Painted Buntings who visited annually for the winter season arriving October 4 on the feast of St. Francis, They brought such joy. Her daughter Katie and she loved to shop and work on house projects together...painting, sewing, reupholstering.
Survivors include daughter, Katie of Pompano Beach, FL, brothers Jim of Erie, PA (Jeanne), Jack of Wilmington, NC and sister Mary Cupples (John) of Harrisburg, NC, and a dear cousin Marjorie Riddle of Roaring Gap, NC and many super nieces and nephews. Her beloved son Michael predeceased her on February 1, 2020.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Jack and Carolyn on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Boynton Beach, Florida. They will be inurned together at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Institute or St. Vincent de Paul Society in Jack & Carolyn's memory.
