July 29, 1938 - August 17, 2021

Carmen M. Sauberer of Boynton Beach, Florida (also known as "Carmita", "Momi", "Mica", "Tata" and "Tia" to her family), was led Home to Heaven by the Lord on August 17, 2021 at the age of 83, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 29, 1938 in Havana, Cuba to her parents Dulce Sanchez and Generoso Exposito. She completed her schooling and also exceled in the now-lost art of Shorthand. As a young girl in Cuba, she loved to dance and entered dance competitions with her cousin Tony and wow, she could dance! Years later she eventually met and married the love of her life, Pedro, in September 1961, on his birthday (at least this way they'd never forget their anniversary). They had five children and in 1968, left Cuba with Pedro while carrying their sixth child, to come the United States to make a better life for their family.

After a short time in Miami, Florida, the family moved to Mamaroneck, New York where she spent many years working hard taking care of the family before relocating to Boynton Beach, Florida in 1978. Years after arriving in Florida and all the kids were in school, she applied and accepted employment at Congress Middle School where she worked for many years in the cafeteria as a "lunch lady" and us kids will tell you that that she was the best dessert baker ever! Later on she went to work at Bethesda Memorial Hospital as a "transporter/technician" for many years until she made the decision to go back to work for the school board as a "Cafeteria Floater". In that position, she worked at a number of different schools until her eventual retirement years later. She also studied and worked hard and became a Citizen of the United States and we were all so very proud of her for accomplishments.

Throughout her life, she developed a love and passion for growing beautiful orchids and collecting antiques, among a variety of many other items. She collected so many things that she kind of made her own house into a museum of sorts. There was always something we've never seen before every time we went to visit, but she'd always tell us "I've had that for a long time"; but now she has the greatest treasure of them all - Peace and everlasting life in Heaven.

She is now reunited with her loved ones who have passed on before as they welcomed her Home and now celebrating her life, recounting many treasured moments, retelling stories of old and dancing in the clouds with her son Pablo (he inherited her dance fever); both of her parents, Dulce and Generoso; her grandparents, her many in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as some nieces and nephews.

Carmen's life and legacy will be carried on in the hearts and in the stories of those she leaves behind, especially that of her loving husband of 60 years, Pedro; her eldest son Pete; her four daughters and sons-in-law - Maria & Ron Kennedy of Nunnelly, TN; Maggie & Robbie Eichorst of Boynton Beach, FL; Cristina & Art Warkentin of Lake Placid, FL and Angela & Mike Adkins of Palm Bay, FL. She will also be truly missed by her granddaughter Amanda Eichorst, grandson Kyle Warkentin, granddaughter Hannah Warkentin, grandson Paul Sauberer and grandsons Joe & Adam Adkins; her dear sister Ada Allegue, niece Ada Rosa Byalick, nephews Leo and Dennis Rodriguez; her brother Manolo Allegue, his wife Nydia and nephew Michele, and her numerous extended family members and friends.

She will be dearly missed by all of us whose heart she was a part of and in those of the lives that she touched. She is our Heavenly Angel and we know she is watching over us all.
