CARMELA SANTALUCIA
Age 85 of Boynton Beach passed away July 22, 2015. Carmela was born in Suffern, New York and attended schools and graduated from high school there. Carmela graduated from Ladycliff College in Highlands Falls, NY with honors. She also earned 2 Masters Degrees. She was asked and started the Early Years Learning Disabled Students Program in Rockland County where she taught for 35 years. After retiring, she and Joseph moved to Goshen, NY then to Boynton Beach in 1995. Carmela volunteered and taught at St. Mark School in Boynton Beach for 10 years. “CARMELA LOVED TEACHING”. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, Boynton Beach.
Carmela is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joseph, 4 nieces, 5 nephews, numerous great nephews & nieces and great, great nephews & nieces.
Friends will be received at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Ave., Boynton Beach on Friday, July 24, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a prayer service held at 4:30 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach. Entombment will follow at Palm Beach Memorial Park.
