BRUNO CASTAGNOLI
age 91 of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Vineland, NJ passed away on June 18, 2016. Bruno had a long career as a farmer after serving as a Corporal in WWII in General Patton’s Third Army, 6th Armored Division. He participated in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and the Central European Campaigns. Bruno received the following medals: European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with Five Bronze Stars, Distinguished Unit Badge, World War II Victory Ribbon, American Campaign Ribbon and two Purple Hearts with Oak Leaf Cluster after being wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. In 2011, he received the French Medal Legion of Honor. Bruno is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathleen (Mayberry); daughters, Joan Kuehn (Chris) and Judith Hattier (David); son, Richard; grandson, Steven Kuehn and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Enes; sister, Catherine Catti; brothers, Gino, Joseph and Raymond.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held Friday, June 24, 2016 at 10:30 AM at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Road #7, Lake Worth, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Disabled American Veterans or TrustBridge Hospice in Bruno’s memory.
